SkADaMo Nov 7: Lucy
Max Ferman's kitty Lucy came up on my Facebook Newsfeed just as I needed a model and my kitties are in the other room. So here she is. Background is dark Painter pastel and coloured pencil. Kitty herself is all Painter coloured pencil. Drawn on my cintiq.

Love how you did the fur:)
ReplyDeleteHi there! Well, I colored in the background with the Painter pastel brush, and then put another layer on top I intended to draw on. But I made a mistake and drew directly on the pastel layer... I just switched to a Painter colored pencil brush and drew many many little hair lines in the direction of her fur, :) The nice thing of digital colored pencil vs real colored pencil is you can easily layer light colors on top of dark, and it never gets too waxy to add more. Thanks for asking!
DeleteI love this one so much. Beautiful colouring and fur. It glows. Thanks for the info on how you approached the fur, is always great to learn from others.
ReplyDeleteThanks JacquiP! I agree for some reason the fur glows! Perhaps because I drew light on dark background! Fun eh! I hadn't tried this before, glad it worked out!
